역지사지: “put oneself in someone else’s shoes”

We can be so caught up with our little life that it’s so easy to forget, ignore, care less what others are going through — other folks’ sufferings and hardships.  We say “walk in her/his shoes” or “put yourself in her/his shoes” when we want to say “consider his/her situations in life.”

There are so many different types of shoes.  Our life is like walking in our own unique shoes.  Everyone is walking on a different path in his/her own shoes.  If we want to understand and empathize with others, it’s good to think about how we would act in their situations.

Things are changing so rapidly — economically, politically, culturally, and socially.  It feels like we are living in a caring, loving community when we put ourselves in each other’s shoes, notwithstanding the changes.   Right? 🙂

Let’s try to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes before we judge!!!
